We love Tangled!!!

Hey, has any of you guys already seen Disney's movie "Tangled"? I've seen it twice already and I just love it!!! It's become one of my favourite Disney movies (together with Beauty and the Beast, Brother Bear and Treasure Planet, and some others too *_____*)
I think with this movie Disney is more back to the roots than they have been for a long time. It's computer animated, which makes it modern, but the entire setting is pretty oldschool and I love that! Rapunzel is so sweeeeet with her huge eyes and Flynn is really good-looking! However, the characters I like best are Pascal and Maximus (that horse is soooo funny!).
If you haven't seen it yet: Go and watch it!!!!!
(Oh, to the left you see the French poster which is really one of my favourites. And the artwork below is one of the earliest released by Disney. Cute, isn't it?)

Long time no see and Merry Christmas

Hey guys, as the title says, long time no see. I didn't feel very well during the last months so I had to take a break and now I am enjoying my first holidays within the last 1 1/2 years, which means: I am feeling much better and I am pretty busy with a lot of things (besides eating a lot of very tasty stuff and playing with my extremely cuuuuute cats). It's really not easy to giftwrap presents when your cats are trying to prevent it because they're having the great idea that it would b a lot of fun to play with the ribbon. And the greatest thing is that after a short while (and of course after causing a mess) they get bored. But, what do you want to do. They are all just sooo lovely. The one you see here with the ribbon is my lovely Strolchi. She's adorable! We have some others and my mother is always so worried about their well-being. She bought all of them fluffy towels with small soft toys as headrests for their sleeping places. My lovely Horsti (yes, that's the name) demonstrates the effects here:
As I said, I am pretty busy with a lot of things like Christmas drawings for my friends
and some commissions. And I am also working on another project about which you will hopefully here something more soon. Here are some tiny glimpses at what I am doing. I can only tell you it's Shounen Ai (yes, again oO Didn''t Shoujo use to be my favourite genre? Seemingly something happened and I didn't notice.) and I kinda like it *___* By the way, I've also updated some of the other pages here in my blog so go and have a look XD
In other respects: I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Have fun!

Turm Manga Blog - New Header

Well, the Animaco is done, most of the buttons are sold out and I am absolutely exhausted because I had to move yesterday ((oO)) I hate moving! Why does one have so much sh**? I mean, I really do not own a lot, but its's enough to drive you crazy. I have bruises all over my body and my limbs feel like pudding.
Anyway, the Animaco was my last convention for this year and now it's time for some quiet working. I still need to finish a project and some people are waiting for commissions.
In other respects: The blog by Schwarzer Turm has a new header XD And who did it? *____________*
Right, me! Have a look!

New Buttons

I don't know how I managed, but I really made some new buttons for the Animaco this weekend and I only want to cuddle them XDDDD!!
I used some of the Chibis I designed for the handmade bookmarks because people really loved them, so I hope they will love these too ^-^
They are bigger than my usual ones (roughly 3,8 cm), but they too will be limited to a specific number (I haven't yet decided which, but probably 10 or 12).

Animaco's coming!

Cheerio everyone,
I know it's been a bit quite these last weeks, but that's because I've got a bad cough, a little fever and sevaral other things. What's more I'll be changing my whereabouts soon, meaning: I'll move into another flat (unbelievable how much stuff you have after living in a flat for more than five years oO). So I'll be pretty busy for the rest of the month. What's more: The Animaco's coming! And I still haven't prepared a thing oO
Well, whoever will be there you will have the chance of winning beautiful things in the lottery which I'll do together with kaorie, Ocean's Art, fukosei and Nashi. And my friend Sawyer will be there too (maybe she'll also join the lottery) with her cuddly plushies.
I will also have some new buttons. They'll be larger than the usual size and I hope you'll love them *____________* I already do ;3

Inklings

People keep asking me what I use to do my outlines. That's actually very simple: I use ink and mulitliner (black and sepia). For all those who do not know how to use ink here are some explanations:
I think the pens I use for inking are the ordinary ones: Maru-Pen (for very delicate lines - the right one) and G-Pen (the bigger one) for thicker lines and blacking. I really love using ink, although you have to be very careful. You always have to ink from left to right so that you do not smudge the wet lines. But if you use the right ink it dries really fast. Some people use very expensive ink, but to be honest sometimes the best ink is not the most expensive one. I use Pelikan ink number 17. The best about this ink is: it's waterproof! That's very important especially for me because I do my colouring with copics. The picture you see to the left is an extract from a short manga I did. I used ink here, as ink is very vivid and really good for animated things. I think I prefer ink to multiliners, although those come in handy when you have to draw straight lines like in the right drawing which is another sneak peek from a project I am currently workig on. *_* What do you prefer? Or do you use something completely different? I also sometimes like simple pencils.

Just got home...

As I am just back from a conference and as I will be very busy working during the next week I thought I might upload another picture from the calendar. They all arrived at their new owners' and I got a really good feedback! Thank you all so much for that! I am happy you appreciate them and the work I put into them! Oh, and there are no more to get. The last two are gone. I got some more requests, but as long as these do not reach a certain number I am not thinking of a reprint. But we'll see...
(This is the Mr. September ;3)

Calendars arrived!!!

Yes, it took a loooong while, but they are finally here and I love them! Well, they really already arrived on Monday, but I had so much work to do that I couldn't post about their arrival. But now they are here and the new printer really did a very good job and the surface of each print is so smooth and the c o l o u r s are really good. There are only two left, so if anybody should be interested please write me a comment.

Chaos has a name...

... and yes, it's mine XD Due to a conference this weekend I will be pretty busy so I thought I could upload some new stuff and some impressions of my work.

Usually I'm a very tidy person, but whenever I get caught up in my work I develop an incredible chaos around me. Well, I guess that's somehow necessary if you want to be creative. Here you see everything I need to create a picture: lots of copic markers, a cup of hot chocolate (which is always empty and that far too soon oO), my beloved rubber, a pencil and crayon sharpener, ink and some cute gimmicks on my desktop that always encourage me to go on *_______________*
Ah, yes, and then I have to tidy up oO

Calendar

Some of you may already have noticed that the calendar for 2011 did not make its appearance at the Connichi. The reason is a broken printer at the copyshop and so I am still waiting for their confirmation for the new prints. I hope I will have the final copies by Monday, but who knows what will happen, one of my teeth broke today, so I really can't tell oO
In order to give you something as a treat here is another calendar sheet. It's called fruit tea *-*

Connichi gimmicks

And here they are my new absolute favourites from the Connichi XD Aren't they cute? I discovered them on the last day and I just had to buy them. I never knew there were Berubara-kids, but I am really happy I found them. My friend Sawyeralso has three (Oscar, Antoinette and André, only that her Antoinette is pink whereas mine has this absolut cute baby blue!). I hope I can get some more of them one day.
I also bought a wonderful new artbook, one I've been wanting to have for quite a while. It's called 100 masters of Bishoujo painting and I love it. Actually I'm really proud because I didn't spent too much money this time, which isn't really easy for me usually. *-*

Connichi - Résumé

Still very tired and physically exhausted I can announce that the Connichi is over and was successful and a lot of fun! It's really fascinating how long all the preparations take and then it's only three days which go by like a rustle of autumn leaves and suddenly it's all over. I really enjoyed it and most of the things I did where really favourites for a lot of people. My Winter poster and the Angel Love postcard are sold out and the buttons are all gone. The mugs were also pretty successful and there are only three left, so maybe I can bring them to the next convention which will probably be the Animaco at the end of October in Berlin (I'm not sure yet). I also did a lot of ConHon-entries. I always feel really bad when I do not have the time to do a decent entry, but I hope you will forgive me for that. Friday and Sunday I had a little more time for it so I hope that those are better. I also purchased some wonderful stuff (I will upload a photo of my favourite gimmicks this afternoon - I just love them - you will see what I mean). So far, thanks a lot for being there, all of you whom I met and finally got to know by face. It was really wonderful and I am sure my original paintings are in good hands. More this afternoon...

You can win this!

Yes, I really made it to finish the second original you can win in my lottery! I really hope you like it!It's very me and very Shoujo!!! The size is A4 and I used ink, copics, pastel chalk and screen tones.

Kitten Love mug - limited edition

I really wasn't sure if I could present this to you, but after I've seen it today I am absolutely happy that I will be able to sell my first own mug at the Connichi. Well, I've done a mug before for Cursed Side, but if you're doing something like this completely on your own it's really something different. The print is a little darker than what you see here, but it's still soooo lovely XD You can get the mug for 6,50 Euro and it's limited to 10 copies. It's title is Kitten Love ^-^

Stuff ...

The Connichi is approaching fast and there are a lot of new things for you. First, the drawing you can see to the right is one of two originals you can win in my lottery. There will be a lot of other prices, like bookmarks and buttons and only very few blanks. As I really love kimono drawings I decided to do this one. I hope I can upload the second one by Wednesday. A batch is 1Euro and for everything you buy (so not only in the lottery) you will get a ConHon-entry for free (otherwise they are 50 Cent). Second, I made some new bookmarks for the Connichi. Some of the handmade type. I really didn't think that the others would be so successful and now almost all of them are gone. As I didn't only want to have two of them, which are all that are left, I made some new and I hope they will also find some good-hearted new owners. You can decide the price for yourself. The minimum is 5 Euro.
Third, you can buy a collection of new buttons at Cursed Side. I had the honour to design one of them. They are the zodiacs and I designed Cancer, which is my Zodiac, so I was really happy. If you like buttons you should definitely get the whole collection. A lot of really great artist participated in it and I am so happy I am one of them *-*
There are only two days left, but there is still a lot more to upload.

Postcards for the Connichi

I've finally finished some of the things I've been working on for (as it seems to me) ever o.O But it really looks like there will be some new stuff. For example these postcards. One of the images you already know: The "My Love... Always" postcard will also be available as a poster. I decided not to do that many posters, as I still have some copies of the images from last year, but instead make some more postcards, buttons, bookmarks, other gimmicks, etc. The "Merry X-Mas" postcard shows an image which will also be in the calendar for next year. Actually the picture has the beautiful title: "All is aglow" XD (hach, so romantic). The third postcard shows an image which is a little older. Some of you who visited me on conventions during the last year will probably remember that I already had a postcard called "Angel Love" which had the same style as this one, which is called "Devil Love". I didn't make it to produce this one as a postcard last year (which I had actually intended), so I decided to do it this year. There is more to come soon ...

Calendar for 2011!!!

As I promised I'll upload some more pictures of the calendar sheets I'm currently working on so that you know what I'm doing. It really is an aweful lot of work and I hope I can finish it in time (sometimes I really hate myself for starting so late, but then I guess I need the pressure oO). I already have four finished sheets (one of them is an older one, but I really love it so I thought I might use it. You can see it below. I'll also make a postcard out of it. I just love Christmas drawings X-X, - yes, I'm already looking forward to Christmas) and I'm working on another six. So there is not much missing, but I also have another project I'm working on so I'm trying to give my best. I hope you're looking forward for more ;3

Buttons for the Connichi 2010

It's been raining all day here where I live so I thought I might upload something funny: The new Buttons for the Connichi this year! They are called: Killbunny, Pooh and Milk XD Briliant, ay? I had a lot of fun doing them and I really hope that many of you will like them. They are 3 cm, so not too tall ( I don't like these huge buttons, they have to be small so that you can wear many of them XD). I'm a little tired so I won't write too much as I also want to write another entry. So just enjoy looking at them XD

Hungry Hearts 5

The new volume of the shounen-ai anthology Hungry Hearts by Schwarzer Turm will be available at the Connichi in Kassel this year! And I had the honour and pleasure to contribute a story!!!
In the Halloween Special my story has the wonderful and maybe also strange title "When it's Raining Frogs..." (you can see the cover to the left). What is behind the story you will be able to read and see in Hungry Hearts 5.
I hope you will like the story. You will be able to read the first five pages in a few days here on the blog or on animexx.
More to come soon ...

Bookmarks and more...

Yes, I really am into bookmarks *-* The ones you see below are handmade and they sparkle and glitter and I love them ;3 They will also be for sale at the Connichi and due to the fact that they're handmade they'll, of course, be a bit more expensive than the prints, but I don't want to set the price. Instead I will let you chose what you would like to pay for them. The minimum is 5 Euro, so if you want to pay 5 Euro that's fine, if you want to pay more that's fine, too. I hope they will find lovely new owners *-*

New! Calendar for 2011!!!

I decided to do another calendar for 2011. Some may still remember the calender I did last year with Zoria. This time it will only be my drawings and you can either get it at the Connichi (please be aware that there will only be a very few calendars available at the Connichi as I do not earn anything with them but only print them according to demand) or you can send me a message or leave a comment here with your address).
The calendar will have the following features:
size: A5
pages:
12 calendar sheets and one cover sheet
design: paperboard back, spiral binding with a little hanger so you can put it on your desk or hang it on your wall
prize: 11 Euro (plus 1,45 postal charges, of course only if you cannot come to the Connichi)
Please only reserve a calendar when you are absolutely sure that you can and will buy one! Payment of course should be made in advance so you will get the calendar as soon as the money is safe here with me XD
The pictures show you some of the drawings I've already done. Maybe you'd like to guess which painting will feature in which month *_*
More to come soon...

New Bookmarks at the Connichi

I love bookmarks, but then I do read a lot. I don't know about you, but I love chosing my bookmarks according to what I'm reading. So I thought it would be a great idea to design some bookmarks for the different genres! (Yes, I know, probably no one else has ever had that idea before *______*) To the left you see a bookmark which you can use for fantasy stories (so basically for every story that features pointy ears in some way or other XD). Below you can see one for Gothic, vampire or other frightening stories (I think because of the skull you could also use it for Shakespeare *-*, but that's, of course, up to you). I will certainly do a third one for adventure stories, which I absolutely love, and my boyfriend suggested one for non-fiction books. You can also still buy the two book marks I had for the Connichi last year and they will be a little cheaper than the new ones XD.
More to come soon ...

Freitag, 6. August 2010

The Connichi is coming up again and I'm already working on my new posters, postcards, buttons, etc. What you see here to the left is one of the new posters, which you will be able to buy or win at my sales stall at the Manga Market. (I hope you like it XD). I'm also planning a new calender, but more infos on that will be posted here in some days. Of course, you will also have the chance to win posters, buttons, and two original paintings from me in my lottery! So you really should take part in it. Actually you can't lose as every batch will be a price and you can also get a ConHon entry from me.
More to come soon ...

FF XIII - almost done

It took me almost forever to finish the main story of FF XIII. Due to the fact that I have alomst no time for playing I thought I'd never finish, but I've finally done it and as usual the last boss fight wasn't really something to talk about, though Bartendalus has some very cool forms. However, now I'm doing what I ususally do in FF-games: I'm trying to do all the extra adventures. I love that! And there are so cool monsters and locations!
And!!!! You can finally ride chocobos! ;3 I mean, let's be honest, the best thing about FF XIII is the baby chocobo! He's so cute (I'm convinced it's a he).
