News from the Chamber of Secrets

It is still very busy in my little "Chamber of Secrets", where all the preparations are going on for the LBM: My postcards and prints for the ACEOs have arrived and simply look superb! There's still a lot of work, but I am already seeing light ahead at the end of the tunnel.

For all those of you who will be visiting me at the LBM and buying a few things this lovely postcard will be for free. It's a new original I did and I hope that I have enough as giveaways :)

In other respects: I have finally received some super-duper merchandise which I had already ordered several months ago in Japan! I am so happy that people are celebrating the anniversary of Sailor Moon because I am still a big fan! I love my new super-cute SD figures!!! I'll show you some more pictures of them in the days to come :)

New drawing for the LBM

Hello everyone,

I again could not access my blog because I forgot my notebook cable at my parents's oO last weekend. Well, I am back and so I can update you a bit more on my preparations for the LBM. I did a new drawing, which will, if the prints turn out all right, hopefully be a beautiful, new postcard :) Keep your fingers crossed.

You know that I usually do my colouring with copics, but, to be honest, colouring with copics takes an aweful lot of time and so I switched to water colours. Even though I have to have some patience while colouring to let the colours dry if necessary it is faster and a lot of fun, too - and the colours I use are so vibrant (!).

I recorded the drawing process here for you and hope you like this little glimpse at how I work with water colours. Below the pictures you can find some explanations.

How do you like it?

Tadaa, done :)

The basic colouring is done, but now comes the re-colouring, corections and white ink.

Even though the colouring of the dress is complete here it is not yet finished. There are several more steps of redoing and re-colouring before I am completely satisfied.

After that I am working my way through the whole drawing doing bits and pieces here and there.

Then the colouring starts. I usually start with the lightest parts (usually that's the skin).

After that I do the clean outlines with water resistant ink. You have to be very careful during that step.

The first step is a very rough sketch (pink pencil), followed by a clearer sketch (black pencil).

Preparations Leipzig Book Fair 2014

This year the LBM will have its own Manga Comic Convention for the first time. I am really looking forward to that! There will be so many great artists there and you can find a plan on who will be sitting where here. The area is called MCC Kreativ.

I will be there from Thursday to Sunday, so it will be buttons. I am really happy they turned out so well and I am polishing some of them so that they look a little like Victorian-style buttons :)
a very long convention, and I am, of course, already preparing some things for the convention. I will not have too many new things because my job and my studies simply don't leave me enough time. But I will have some new buttons and some new drawings. Here I am showing you the

How do you like them? The oval-shaped ones are 7cm x 4cm. The penguin button is not really new, but people liked it so much at the last conventions that I decided to get some more of them printed. They have a metal look and I really like that effect.

In my next post I am going to show you one of the new drawings I am doing.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Another early morning

Well, okay, it's not really early anymore, but I've already been awake for a few hours so you can say I had an early start.

This is the last post with ACEOs from the Christmas Calendar for purchasable cards. It was a really a tough job drawing so many Christmas-themed cards, but I am very glad I did it and many people liked the idea, so I am probably going to do it again next year.

Whereas the card on the left was sold I was lucky and kept the card on the right, which was for the 24th. I am really glad I could keep it because it reminds me so much of Christmas with my grandparents. My last grandmother and my last grandfather died last year so I have no grandparents left. That's why I love the card all the more. It will also not be for sale at the LBM.

Well, I hope you are looking forward to more things I did during the last months because now we can come to some larger-sized drawings.

Almost there

We're almost done with the cards from the Christmas Calendar and my progress with the preparations for the LBM are also coming along quite well. I will be ordering the last prints tomorrow and then I can only hope that they will turn out the way I want them to be.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me because I am never really lucky with prints oO

The cards you see here are not all gone yet. The two at the bottom I still have and they will be for sale at the LBM. They were for the 20th and 21st of Christmas and as you can imagine the cards got more and more artistic and took me longer to draw the closer I got to the 24th.

Early morning

Good morning, dearies,

I have to get an early start today because I'll be travelling to see my parents and my lovely kittehs!!!! I am so looking forward to seeing them because I haven't been home since Christmas and I miss my kittehs dearly. But before I go I can show you some more ACEOs from my Christmas Calendar. Whoever is already tired of me only uploading ACEOs you can check out my Facebook page and get a glimpse at my preparations for the Leipzig Book Fair. Who has patience enough can stay here and watch the slow progress I am making in catching up with my work from the last months oO.  I'll appreciate both :)

Not all of the ACEOs you can see here were bought during the Christmas Calendar Event. Four or five were left and I'll be having those together with some more older ACEOs I did at the LBM. They will be for sale for a very good price and rank between two to eleven Euros. One of those that is still available and which I do not really like to part with is the top right one in this post. It took me a very long time to achieve that glow effect which is mirrored in the glas window. The card is called "Warm Light" - an appropriate name I think. I'll show you more cards this evening or tomorrow.

More and more drawings

The two days off I had inbetween work are over, but I think I was able to use the time really well. I accomplished most of the things I wanted to accomplish and I am very happy that the first buttons from the printing have arrived and I just love them! I am sometimes not very lucky with prints so I am all the more happy that these worked out just fine.

I'll show them to you as soon as possible, but before that there are some more cards from my Christmas Calendar. We're already through half of them, but to be honest, I did another Christmas Calendar with ACEOs, but this one is was for friends - and I haven't even finished it yet because I am
busy with the preparations for the LBM. oO

Well, I better hurry then because I hate not finishing things - although I sometimes tend to forget that I had planned finishing something oO
I hope you had a nice Tuesday. The middle of the week is almost there and then it's almost weekend :3

Evening greetings

In order to make it to show you the preparations for the Leipzig Book Fair and some of the commissions I did during the last week I am uploading
some more cards from my Christmas Calendar. And besides, I want to use the fact that I can finally write posts again on my blog before it stops working for no reason as it did a couple of months ago. The two you see here were also purchased by some people. Like I told you, there were only about four left out of the 24 new cards I drew. There are more drawings to come tomorrow. Sleep tight! (-.-)

More impressions

Good morning to y'all!!!

I hope you had a great weekend and are now ready to start into another week. Fortunately, I have two days off before I have to work again, which allows me to use my time to get things done I've had to do for weeks (like doctors' appointments and stuff) and I can also use the time to prepare the Leipzig Book Fair, which is coming up in March. Will any of you be there this year? It is the first time that the LBM gets ist own Manga Convention (which is understandable considering the mess many people, especially cosplayers, created during the last years (sorry, I don't mean that all cosplayers are little piggies, most of them are just great people, but I've been there during the last years and I've seen it). So, hopefully, I can manage to upload some more of the things I did during the last weeks to show you in time what I am preparing for now.

The drawings you can see here were also part of the ACEO Christmas Calendar I did. All of them were bought by different people. I know the upper right one may look familiar to you, but after the MMC last year this scissor cut ACEO was the only one left of the set I did so I decided it should be part of the Christmas Calendar. I am very happy that it was bought by a girl who also purchased most of the other scissor cut ACEOs. She is a big fan of those and has been following my work ever since, especially on my Facebook page, which you are also welcome to visit.

Have a nice Monday and a lovely start into another week!

More works from the last months

And because I have to show you so much more of what I've been doing, here are some more cards from the Christmsas Calendar. I drew a card for each day so there were 24 all together. The one on the right was bought by someone, but the one on the left is still available and can be purchased at the Leipzig Book Fair this year in March. I will have all the leftover cards from the Christmas Calendar - of which there are only four - for sale at the LBM. So maybe I'll see you there.

Upcoming work and the last months

Hello everyone,

Finally, I can write some new posts on my blog. I don't know why, but it hasn't been working for several months and then inbetween I forgot. I will try to keep up with everything I have been doing lately and hope you will follow my work :)

During the last months I was especially busy with a Christmas ACEO Calendar. I drew 24 Christmas ACEOs and people could choose the ones they wanted and get a surprise package in addition. It was a great success and a big thanks again goes out to everyone who bought cards. So These are the first drawings you are going to see in my new posts :)

Oh, and a belated Happy New Year ;3
